Can you tell me in which stories or novels does Epiktistes appear?

I know "Arrival at Easterwine", "What's the name of this town" and "Thus we frustrated Charlesmagne", but surely there are more.

Can you help me?

Thanks in advance.

Interesting question. There are three stories "Through Other Eyes", "Bubbles When They Burst" and "All But the Words" featuring Valery Mok, Gregory Smirnov and friends, but I don't think Epikt appears in any of them.

And then there is one that does feature Epikt and its called "Flaming Ducks and Giant Bread". That story doesn't do much for me I am afraid.

There could be more, but I don't know/remember any.

I add four stories in which Epikt appears.

"All Hollow Though You Be"
"Smoe and the Implicit Clay"
"Bird-Master"
"Great Tom Fool"

(In "Great Tom Fool", Epikt appears alias Dude.)

Thanks for your replies!

I'd check it by myself but very few of Lafferty's stories have been translated into Spanish, so I can't read them.

Do you remember any other with Valerie and friends, even without Epikt?

I recommend three short stories and a novel.

Gregory Smirnov & Aloysius Shiplap appear in "Land of the Great Horses".
Charles Cogsworth & Diogenes Pontifex appear in "The End of Outward".
Diogenes Pontifex appears in "The Hole on the Corner".

Aloysius Shiplap appears in "Annals of Klepsis".

"All Hollow Though You Be" is included in "Slippery and Other Stories", which is a booklet published by Chris Drumm in 1985.
"Bird-Master" is included in "Four Stories", which is also a booklet published by Chris Drumm in 1983.

Chris Drumm's site is:

If these items are in stock, you may order by e-mail.

"Smoe and the Implicit Clay" is included in "Future Power", which is an anthology book edited by J. Dann & G. R. Dozois in 1976.
"Great Tom Fool" is included in "Speculations", which is an anthology book edited by Isaac Asimov & Alice Laurance in 1982.
Because these books are out of print, you might be able to find copies by searching Bookfinder com., or other online used book shops.

Here is a complete list of Lafferty's short stories.

Thanks for the information!

I actually have "Slippery and Other Stories" and "Four Stories", but I forgot about the two stories. I will follow the pointers about the other two stories. Your Lafferty collection must be way better than mine.

It's ashame I can't read japanese, so I can't read your reviews and compare them with mine. I tried to push them through Babelfish but the results are fairly incomprehensible. Learning japanese a little is an idea to pursue for retirement. :)
