Time for another Xcode rant

If I count the number of lines of code I am losing because of Xcode crashes, it'd be probably amount to days of work over the year. WTF is so complicated about an autosave feature ? Ever noticed that there is an autosaving API in NSDocument ? vi and emacs had that at the tail end of the punchcard era already. It's come to the point where, if Xcode terminally hangs again, I make a snapshot of the screen and then make a futile search for an OCR package for Mac OS X to save some of my work...
