G5 2000 vs Athlon 1800

ZNeK ran the same test on his highly tuned FreeBSD 5.1 Athlon 1800+ Box with a Maxtor 6Y160P0 160GB/7200 disk and 512 MB RAM. Here are his results:

It is interesting to note, that the user time is about 1.5 times the time of the G5 indicating that the raw CPU power of a G5 processor is approximately that of an Athlon 2600. Therefore my dual G5 should be equivalent to an Athlon 5200 :)

But it also shows that disk I/O of FreeBSD is vastly superior to the OS I used.
