The class documentation for EDMailAgent explains the basics:

http://www.mulle-kybernetik.com/software/EDFrameworks/Documentation/EDMessage/Classes/EDMailAgent.html

Then there is an attachment on of the posts in the "Sending HTML emails" topic in this forum that has a full working example for sending formatted emails with embedded images:

Receiving emails is quite a different story from sending email. There are many different options and protocols, and for that reason there's no single example.

You first have to find a library that supports the protocols you require, e.g. IMAP. Once you have the raw data for the message you can use the initWithTransferData: method on EDInternetMessage to create a message object. From there you can use the various methods to determine the type and content of the message.

There's a bit more info on the intro page of the EDMessage framework but you're definitely looking at more work here.

http://www.mulle-kybernetik.com/software/EDFrameworks/Documentation/EDMessage/EDMessageIntro.html

If you are serious about writing a larger app based on EDMessage you might want to look at the ALX3000 project on SourceForge. It never got finished but all the basic things like decoding messages work already.

Hope this helps
