Have y'all been following Andrew Ferguson's very well-written blog, "Continued on Next Rock?" I have been really enjoying it, but Andrew, John Ellison, myself, and on rare occasion Daniel Petersen are the only people on the discussion threads.

It is here: http://ralafferty.tumblr.com/

All the best,

Kevin

I keep up with Continued. Haven't had time to read the other blog yet. It's an exciting time to be a Lafferty fan now that the manuscripts are being sorted.

Hi All,

I just posted another one on my blog about spreading the word about Lafferty to the world of Academia: http://yetanotherlafferty.blogspot.com/2013/09/infecting-academia.html. I'd love to hear any stories y'all might have about spreading the word about Lafferty.

I am currently writing an app for the iPad, which will probably feature a nullifier. It should be able to "set up and enforce categories" :)

Hi Everyone,

I just added another teensy little post to my Lafferty blog about reactions to reading Arrive at Easterwine. You can see it here: http://yetanotherlafferty.blogspot.com/2013/10/not-getting-to-easterwine.html

And just added another small post with some rambling rumination on “Apocryphal Passage of the Last Night of Count Finnegan On Galveston Island,” the last chapter of The Devil is Dead which did not get to the printers in time, and is therefore only included in Episodes of the Argo.

Interesting, I'm most curious about The Backdoor of History, what's that like? I haven't been able to find an affordable copy but it's been high on my wishlist since forever. Do you also have Cranky Old Man from Tulsa?

I'm in the middle of "Episodes of the Argo", the title story of Episodes of the Argo right now. I'll look into The Back Door of History next.

The stories in The Back Door of History are:
    Phoenic
    Six Leagues From Lop
    Rainy Day in Halicarnasses
    Assault on Fat Mountain
    Calamities of Last Pauper
    Rogue Raft

None of which I know. Andrew Ferguson had an excellent essay on "Phoenic" on Continued on Next Rock some weeks back, and Daniel Petersen gave us some quotes from "Assault on Fat Mountain" on The Ants of God are Queer Fish some months back that led to a discussion of the term "Buffalopunk" as a label for some of Lafferty's Native American pastiche stories.

I'll post a blog entry after I read The Back Door of History.

The way I found these copies was by periodically checking Amazon. I do that once or twice a week. Occasionally someone posts affordable copies. These were listed at their original cover prices. It just means scrolling through a few pages of Lafferty listings with an eye to the prices. I should look and see if there's a way to filter my results by used/collectible prices.

I'm afraid I don't have "Cranky Old Man."

Thanks!

I have Cranky Old Man From Tulsa. It contains two interviews with Lafferty spanning 25 pages, so they are quite long for interviews. The first one is around the time Archipelago was published. The second interview is "assembled" from five years of correspondence.

It's nice to have and have read them, but I don't think I found anything really eye opening there. They just give some more details off the Lafferty universe.

I finally got around to writing a post about The Back Door of History here: http://yetanotherlafferty.blogspot.com/2014/01/the-back-door-of-history.html.

Happy New Year everyone!

More Lafferty in the Blogosphere:

There are some more comments about Lafferty out there in the blogosphere. Several reviews and reactions to some of Lafferty's work have shown up on the blog "MPorcius Fiction Log." The blogger is widely read in both science fiction and literary fiction, and his reviews span from Piers Anthony to P. G. Wodehouse. I don't always agree with his assessments of the books and stories he comments on, but his notes are well written, and I am very glad to see Lafferty considered among the wider range of fiction.

And I've put up another new post--my first in a story by story review of Ringing Changes. It will probably take a while to get through the the whole collection. Her is the first, "Parthen":

Just put up a small post on Yet Another Lafferty Blog, detailing an act of great kindness I was very lucky to be the recipient of: http://www.yetanotherlaffertyblog.com/2014/06/an-act-of-great-kindness.html

Now this is hopefully going to be good. That's something that I also thought about doing some time. But it's surely better done by professionals :)

R. A. Lafferty Documentary project page

It's still fairly new, lets hope the author has the stamina do this project.

This is old, but I don't think I linked it anywhere:
