I finally was able to find the email address to Lafferty's agent. I asked her if there was any interest by them to get Lafferty online here for free.

Well the short and succinct answer is no. :)

So there... I think the first Lafferty stories will go Public Domain not earlier than 2020.

Just to let you know, in case you were wondering if that was possible.

Actually Lafferty texts will reach the Public Domain even later.

I read at Public Domain Info (http://www.pdinfo.com) that most of his works have a copyright lasting 95 years from the date copyright was secured.

Hopefully someone will then still be alive then to remember Lafferty's work. I won't :)

Ah, but our children will be, and it's up to us to shape them:)

Besides, doesn't reading Lafferty teach us that death is seldom the end?

I'll give you a small quote from East of Laughter to tide you over:
"[...]I love politeness above all things. There was a perfect gentleman who was gunned down, for business reasons, in one of the small streets that surround my Castle just yesterday. So he lay in the gutter spouting little fountains of blood. A man came by and looked at him and there. 'How're you doing?' the man questioned him. 'Dying,' said the perfect gentleman, raising his hat from his head in salute, 'but it was kind of you to ask.'
That is what I call politeness."

Wildside press has a new book scheduled for Lafferty by the way.
